The tension is still high between Gorran and PUK in Suleimani, and the verbal war is still continuing in the media. The contra-terror unit is under the lead of President Jalal Talabani's son which is not constitutionally legalized military unit. Gorran in Sbeiy calls it " the militia of the Iraqi President" . In another incident the contra unit arrested wonded supporters in the Hospital which is a breach of the law according to the hospital officials. Still supporters of Gorran and Kurdistani lists take off each other's posters from the walls which leads mostly to violence.
In a strong statement of Sardar Abdullah Gorran candidate: "Contra-terror unit looks like a unit from a fascist state, besides it is not binded by any law".
In Erbil, the city officials cut the electricity when Gorran leaders speeches on KNN TV channel, the mouthpiece of Gorran movement. Besides KNN team was arrested and their tapes confiscated by KDP forces. Many analysts expect these tensions could be a trigger to a popular uprising.
